The offerings were made with deep devotion and reverence amid an atmosphere of religious fervour. The sacred Patta Rakhi Seva, organised under the inspiration and patronage of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, is an annual initiative aimed at upholding and promoting the rich traditions of Sri Jagannath Culture. This year, the inclusion of the historic Sri Baladevjew Temple at Brahmapura in the observance evoked considerable enthusiasm among local devotees and residents. As Gamha Purnima is traditionally observed as the sacred birth anniversary of Lord Balabhadra, special rituals, traditional Niti-Kanti, Puja and other religious ceremonies were performed at the temple. The sounds of conch shells and temple bells, accompanied by Haribol chants, Huluhuli and devotional Bhajan-Kirtan, created a spiritually vibrant atmosphere throughout the temple premises. A grand cultural and spiritual procession was also taken out from Brahmapura Adivasi Bhawan to Sri Baladevjew Temple. Well-wishers of KIIT-KISS, supporters of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, members of the KISS family and a large number of devotees participated in the procession. Devotional Bhajans, Kirtans, songs and traditional dance performances by women’s Kirtan groups added colour and spiritual fervour to the occasion.
