The Regional Development Forum Pampore today convened an important meeting of its members, where they once again strongly reiterated the long-pending demand for granting district status to Pampore. During the meeting, members highlighted that Pampore has a rich historical identity, strategic importance, and covers a vast geographical area, making it eligible for district status. The forum also raised several pressing public issues, including development gaps, administrative challenges, and lack of adequate facilities faced by residents. It was further emphasized that people living in adjacent areas of other districts have shown willingness and interest in being included within Pampore, citing better connectivity, cultural linkage, and administrative convenience. The members urged the government to take immediate and serious action on this long-standing demand.
