DGP J&K Chairs High-Level Meeting to Review Security Arrangements. Srinagar, Aug 25: Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat (IPS), on Tuesday chaired a security review meeting at Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir to assess preparedness for the upcoming Eid Milad-un-Nabi (ﷺ) and other forthcoming events across the Union Territory. The meeting was attended by Special DGP Coordination J&K, IGP Kashmir Zone, IGP Jammu Zone, all Range DIGs, District SSPs and PDs of J&K, SSP PCR Kashmir, AIG Communication & Intelligence PHQ, besides other senior officers. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on security preparedness, deployment plans, crowd management and traffic regulation measures to ensure the safe, peaceful and smooth conduct of the events, including Friday following Eid Milad-un-Nabi and Raksha Bandhan. The DGP stressed heightened vigilance, proactive policing and foolproof security arrangements, particularly at major shrines, mosques and other religious places. Special focus was laid on Dargah Hazratbal and other prominent religious sites where nightlong prayers and large congregations are expected. Officers were directed to ensure adequate security coverage, close coordination among all field formations and a prompt response to any emerging situation.
