- I used to work in a market research agency in Andheri East in 2010. I used to go to a Malwani restaurant located close by for lunch once a week. I had a fixed order. The pomfret fry thali. It was the most expensive dish on the menu. It starred a juicy, freshly fried, medium sized pomfret accompanied by sol kadi, gravy from surmai curry, a choice of roti/ rice bhakri and rice. It was the most scrumptious and stress busting meal that one could have. I am referring to the 23 year old Malwani Aswad. It is a small, neat and clean restaurant which is packed during lunch hours. It is owned by Kamal Karkera and his uncle Nitin Kambli who are business partners. The second generation, Karkare’s son Arya, who is an architect, and Kambli’s daughter, himalikambli (featured in this video), pitch in at times. This family run restaurant is not as much of a hidden gem as I thought. Many food lovers across the city know of it and have eaten here! I thought that it was apt that I start my #thalimumbai series with them.1

- RT News - June 30 2024 (17:00 MSK) WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange takes his first steps back on Australian soil, reunited with his family after a grueling 14 year-long legal battle. That’s after a judge accepted a plea deal struck with the US government which offered Assange little choice but to agree. Australian lawmaker, Andrew Wilkie, slammed Washington for setting an alarming precedent. President Macron’s centrist alliance could be dealt a major blow by Le Pen’s Eurosceptic opposition party as snap elections in France are in full swing today. His willingness to send both troops and weapons to Ukraine has not helped the coalition’s falling poll numbers.1
