Earthquake of Magnitude 5.9 Jolts Afghanistan, Tremors Felt Across J&K Reports of tremors felt in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi also Srinagar, Apr 3 : A moderate earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale struck the Afghanistan-Tajikistan Border Region on Friday evening, with tremors felt across several parts of Jammu and Kashmir. According to initial data, the quake occurred at 16:12:58 UTC with its epicenter located at coordinates 36.52°N latitude and 71.01°E longitude, at a depth of 175 kilometres. The information was shared by Kashmir Weather, citing data from GFZ. No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received so far, however, mild tremors triggered panic among residents in parts of the Valley. Authorities are monitoring the situation. Meanwhile, earthquake was also reported from North India - parts including Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.

- Srinagar, Apr 03 (GNS): Amid prevailing inclement weather conditions and an adverse forecast, the District Administration Srinagar on Friday issued a public advisory cautioning residents against non-essential movement and urging strict adherence to safety measures. The advisory, issued by the Office of the District Magistrate Srinagar, a copy of which lies with GNS, says that intermittent light to moderate rainfall, with snowfall over higher reaches, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds (40–50 kmph), is expected to continue across most areas of the district till the evening of April 4. Authorities have advised the general public to avoid unnecessary travel on roads unless absolutely essential, citing potential risks arising from the ongoing weather conditions. The administration also issued a specific warning for tourists, local shikara operators, sand miners, and others operating in and around water bodies, including Dal Lake and River Jhelum. They have been strictly directed not to attempt crossing or undertake any activity on these water bodies without first assessing the prevailing conditions and safety status. In case of any emergency, residents have been asked to contact the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC), Srinagar, or the Police Control Room (PCR), Srinagar, for prompt assistance. - पुलिस थाना बंगाणा के तहत बीहडू कलां स्थित गोबिंद सागर झील में डूबे 24 वर्षीय श्रद्धालु का शव 18 घंटे बाद मिला। मृतक युवक की पहचान आकाशदीप पुत्र कश्मीरी लाल निवासी अमृतसर, पंजाब के रूप में हुई है। गोताखोर की मदद से निकाले गए शव को बंगाणा पुलिस ने कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया है। साथ ही आगामी शुरू कर दी है। बता दें कि पंजाब के कुछ श्रद्धालु युवक शुक्रवार दोपहर को पीरनिगाह मंदिर में माथा टेकने के बाद बाबा बालक नाथ मंदिर जा रहे थे। इसके लिए बीहडू कलां स्थित गोबिंद सागर झील किनारे बोट का इंतजार करने लगे। इसी दौरान अमृतसर निवासी आकाशदीप सिंह का पैर फिसल गया और गोबिंद सागर झील में समा गया। हालांकि साथी युवकों बचाने का प्रयास किया, लेकिन असफल रहे। सूचना मिलने के बाद ग्रामीण सहित पुलिस टीम मौके पर पहुंची और आकाशदीप को ढूंढने का प्रयास किया, लेकिन अंधेरा होने के चलते कोई पता नहीं चल पाया। शनिवार सुबह एक बार फिर से आकाशदीप सिंह तलाश शुरू की और गोताखोरों को बुलाया। जिसके बाद शव को बाहर निकाला गया। एएसपी ऊना संजीव भाटिया ने बताया कि पुलिस ने शव को कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया है।1ऊना की खबर
