The programme aimed to promote awareness on social responsibility, moral values, youth empowerment, education, and constructive community engagement. The event witnessed overwhelming participation and served as an important platform for meaningful discussions on the role of youth in building a progressive and responsible society. He said that no government in J&K has ever imposed a complete ban on liquor shops, adding that the administration does not seek to promote alcohol use. “Our religion does not permit us to consume alcohol, nor do we want people to move towards this path,” Omar Abdullah said. The Chief Minister further stated that the government has not opened any new liquor shops and has taken measures to ensure that such outlets are not located in places where they could negatively influence the youth. He also accused political opponents of attempting to misuse his remarks to divert attention from their own past failures.1
