J&K | Search Operation Launched After Suspicious Movement In Samba JAMMU, Apr 5: Security forces on Sunday launched a search operation at a village in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir following reports of movement of three suspicious individuals, officials said. A resident of Bedh Khad in the Darui area reported spotting three unidentified persons with one carrying a heavy backpack, moving along a dried-up stream under the cover of darkness. Suspecting them to be terrorists, though no weapons were visible, the Special Operations Group of the local police, assisted by the Army and paramilitary forces, launched a search operation to trace the suspects. Officials said the search operation was ongoing in the village and adjoining areas, but there had been no contact with the suspected persons so far.

Poonch, April 5: A fire broke out at a power grid station in the Seklu Mandi area of Poonch district on Sunday, causing damage to infrastructure, officials said. According to officials, the blaze erupted earlier in the day, damaging parts of the power grid. Fire and emergency services, along with police personnel, promptly reached the site and managed to bring the flames under control. Preliminary reports indicate that the fire may have been triggered by lightning. Police have taken cognizance of the incident, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause and extent of the damage.

हिमाचल प्रदेश के जनजातीय क्षेत्र अपनी अद्भुत प्राकृतिक संपदा और समृद्ध जैव विविधता के लिए पूरे देश में विशेष पहचान रखते हैं। इन्हीं क्षेत्रों में जिला चंबा का पांगी विकास खंड एक ऐसा इलाका है, जिसे वन्य प्राणियों का सुरक्षित आश्रय स्थल माना जाता है। ऊंचे-ऊंचे पहाड़, घने जंगल, बर्फ से ढकी चोटियां और दूर-दराज़ की शांत घाटियां यहां के वन्य जीवन को संरक्षण प्रदान करती हैं। पांगी क्षेत्र में विभिन्न प्रकार के दुर्लभ और संरक्षित वन्य जीव पाए जाते हैं। इनमें हिमालयन आइबेक्स, हिमालयन थार, कस्तूरी मृग, बर्फीला तेंदुआ (स्नो लेपर्ड), काला भालू, भूरा भालू, लाल भालू और जंगली बकरी, पक्षीयो में नील नीलो, चकोर, गोरेया, गलोन, गिद प्रमुख हैं। इन जीवों की मौजूदगी इस क्षेत्र की पारिस्थितिकी संतुलन को बनाए रखने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है। खास बात यह है कि ये वन्य जीव पांगी की ऊंची धारों (गहारों) में प्राकृतिक रूप से विचरण करते हैं, जिससे यह क्षेत्र जैव विविधता का अनमोल केंद्र बन गया है। प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा पांगी के टावन सैचू क्षेत्र को वन्य जीवों के लिए आरक्षित अभयारण्य घोषित किया गया है, जिससे यहां के वन्य जीवों को अतिरिक्त सुरक्षा मिल रही है। पांगी वन मंडल के अंतर्गत गहार परमार, दुसगहार, हरुई, चस्क भटोरी, हिलूटवान, सुराल हुडान, प्रेग्राम और विन्द्रावानी जैसी अनेक सुंदर धारें स्थित हैं। ये सभी गहार अपनी प्राकृतिक सुंदरता, हरियाली और सांस्कृतिक महत्व के लिए प्रसिद्ध हैं। यहां के बर्फ से ढके पहाड़, हरे-भरे चरागाह और स्वच्छ वातावरण पर्यटकों को अपनी ओर आकर्षित करते हैं। वन्य जीवों की गतिविधियों के बारे में जानकारी देते हुए पर्यावरण प्रेमी डॉ. नरेश ठाकुर, जो वर्तमान में पशुपालन विभाग पांगी में कार्यरत हैं, बताते हैं कि गर्मियों के मौसम में ये वन्य जीव 9,000 से 12,000 फीट की ऊंचाई वाले क्षेत्रों में चले जाते हैं। इस दौरान उन्हें पर्याप्त भोजन और अनुकूल वातावरण मिलता है। वहीं सर्दियों में भारी बर्फबारी के कारण ये जीव निचले क्षेत्रों की ओर आ जाते हैं, जहां उन्हें जीवन यापन के लिए बेहतर परिस्थितियां मिलती हैं। पांगी की ये गहारें न केवल वन्य जीवों के लिए सुरक्षित आवास हैं, बल्कि वन्यजीव पर्यटन के लिए भी अपार संभावनाएं रखती हैं। यदि इन क्षेत्रों में योजनाबद्ध तरीके से पर्यटन को बढ़ावा दिया जाए, तो यह स्थानीय लोगों के लिए रोजगार के अवसर भी पैदा कर सकता है। साथ ही, इससे लोगों में वन्य जीवों के प्रति जागरूकता और संरक्षण की भावना भी विकसित होगी। अतः यह आवश्यक है कि हम सभी मिलकर पांगी की इस अनमोल प्राकृतिक धरोहर को संरक्षित करने का संकल्प लें। वन्य जीवों की सुरक्षा, पर्यावरण संरक्षण और संतुलित पर्यटन विकास के माध्यम से ही इस क्षेत्र की सुंदरता और जैव विविधता को आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए सुरक्षित रखा जा सकता है।
