निशांत नहीं बने डिप्टी सीएम, आखिरी समय में लिया बड़ा फैसला पटना: बिहार की राजनीति में उस समय बड़ा मोड़ आ गया जब मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार के बेटे निशांत कुमार ने डिप्टी सीएम बनने से इनकार कर दिया। 14 अप्रैल की दोपहर तक उन्हें इस पद के लिए मनाने की कोशिशें चलती रहीं, लेकिन अंततः उन्होंने साफ मना कर दिया। सूत्रों के अनुसार, पार्टी और कुछ नेताओं की ओर से उन्हें जिम्मेदारी देने की चर्चा थी, वहीं यह भी माना जा रहा था कि इस प्रस्ताव के पीछे खुद मुख्यमंत्री की इच्छा अधिक थी। इसके बावजूद निशांत कुमार ने राजनीति में सक्रिय भूमिका से दूरी बनाए रखने का संकेत दिया। इस घटनाक्रम के बाद जेडीयू के भविष्य और नेतृत्व को लेकर कई सवाल उठने लगे हैं। क्या पार्टी में नया नेतृत्व उभरेगा या फिर नीतीश कुमार ही आगे भी कमान संभालेंगे—यह देखना दिलचस्प होगा।
