- Mid-Day Meal Funds Pending for One Year, TJAC Poonch Gives Department One-Week Deadline* *Mid-Day Meal Funds Pending for One Year, TJAC Poonch Gives Department One-Week Deadline* *TJAC Announces Collective Course of Action if* *Pending Funds* *Are Not Released* Poonch: An important meeting of the Teachers Joint Action Committee (TJAC), District Poonch, was held at Parade Ground, Poonch. The meeting was jointly chaired by TJAC UT General Secretary Najmul Hassan Jafri and District President Sayed Mohd Yousaf Shah. The meeting discussed in detail the non-release of Mid-Day Meal funds for the past one year. During the meeting, teachers stated that they have been purchasing the food items required for the Mid-Day Meal from their own pockets, while the amount spent on these items has remained pending for the past one year. As a result, teachers are facing serious financial difficulties, while they are also finding it difficult to clear outstanding payments to shopkeepers. The teachers said that, keeping the interests of students in mind, they continued to arrange the Mid-Day Meal by spending their personal funds. However, bearing these expenses from their own pockets continuously for one year has now become extremely difficult for them. Addressing the meeting, TJAC leaders demanded that the Government and senior officials of the Education Department immediately release all pending Mid-Day Meal funds so that the financial difficulties being faced by teachers can be addressed and the Mid-Day Meal arrangement for students can continue without disruption. TJAC District Poonch gave the Education Department one week to release the pending funds, stating that if the amount is not released within this period, the teachers will decide on a collective course of action regarding the Mid-Day Meal scheme. TJAC leaders made it clear that teachers have always given priority to the interests and welfare of students. However, continuing to bear Mid-Day Meal expenses from their own pockets for an entire year is no longer possible.
