Day 5 of Peaceful Strike by PG Scholars of Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Akhnoor//// The Postgraduate (PG) scholars of Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Akhnoor, have entered the fifth consecutive day of their peaceful strike regarding the prolonged delay in sanctioning and establishing the stipend for PG scholars. The MD/MS Ayurveda postgraduate courses were started at the institution in November 2025, marking an important step towards postgraduate Ayurvedic education in Jammu & Kashmir. However, despite nearly 10 months having passed since the commencement of the PG courses, no formal stipend sanction order has been issued till date. Even the required concurrence for the stipend has not yet been granted. The stipend file is reportedly under process in the Finance Department, with queries being raised at different stages. Despite the passage of considerable time, the matter has not reached its logical conclusion, leaving the first batch of PG scholars without a formal stipend order. The scholars have repeatedly appealed for timely intervention and resolution of the matter. Their present protest is a peaceful and democratic effort to highlight a genuine administrative and financial concern and to seek the stipend that is due to postgraduate scholars. Even after five days of continuous strike, no competent authority or senior administrative representative has come to the protesting PG scholars to meet them, hear their grievances, or provide a concrete assurance regarding resolution of the issue. The PG scholars once again appeal to the concerned authorities to take immediate cognizance of the matter, expedite the pending concurrence and sanction process, and resolve the issue at the earliest in the interest of postgraduate education and the students who constitute the first PG batch of the institution. — PG Scholars Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Akhnoor, Jammu & Kashmir
