Day 3: SKUAST-K Forestry Students Continue Protest Against Proposed Forester Recruitment Rules Day 3: SKUAST-K Forestry Students Continue Protest Against Proposed Forester Recruitment Rules Ganderbal: Students of the Faculty of Forestry at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), Benahama, Ganderbal, continued their peaceful protest for the third consecutive day on wednesday against the recently proposed draft amendments to the recruitment rules and eligibility criteria for the post of Forester in the J&K Forest Department. The students have been protesting continuously for the last three days, raising concerns over the proposed eligibility criteria for direct recruitment to the post of Forester under the Draft Recruitment Rules. The protesting students appealed to the government to reconsider and amend the proposed recruitment rules, demanding that candidates holding a degree in Forestry be given exclusive eligibility for the post of Forester and other forestry-related examinations. The students said the proposed changes could adversely affect the career prospects of those who have pursued professional education in Forestry. They urged the government to protect the interests of forestry graduates and ensure that the recruitment criteria appropriately recognize their specialized qualifications.
