- প্রতিবেশী মহিলার শেষকৃত্য সেরে ফেরার পথে ভয়াবহ পথ দুর্ঘটনার কবলে পড়লেন ১৬ জন গ্রামবাসী। মঙ্গলবার দিবাগত রাত আনুমানিক সাড়ে তিনটে নাগাদ ভরতপুর থানার অন্তর্গত গোপালপুর ভালুইপাড়া রাস্তার খালগাছার কাছে নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে একটি যাত্রীবোঝাই ট্রাক্টর রাস্তার ধারের ধানের জমিতে উল্টে যায়। এই মর্মান্তিক দুর্ঘটনায় মৃত্যু হয়েছে ৩৩ বছর বয়সী যুবক সেন্টু ঘোষের। জানা গেছে, ভরতপুর থানার পদমুড় গ্রামের বাসিন্দা মিঠু ঘোষ নামে এক ক্যানসার আক্রান্ত মহিলার মৃত্যু হলে তাঁকে সাটুই শ্মশান ঘাটে দাহ করতে গিয়েছিলেন গ্রামেরই ১৬ জন বাসিন্দা। ফেরার পথে ট্রাক্টরের চালক ঘুমিয়ে পড়ার কারণেই এই বিপত্তি ঘটে বলে মনে করা হচ্ছে। ট্রাক্টরটি যখন ধানের জমিতে উল্টে যায়, তখন ১০ জন যাত্রী ছিটকে পড়লেও ৬ জন টলির নিচে চাপা পড়েন। এর মধ্যে সেন্টু ঘোষ ও গৌতম ঘোষের শরীরের অর্ধেক অংশ টলির তলায় আটকে যায়। বিকট শব্দ শুনে স্থানীয় গ্রামবাসীরা দ্রুত ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে তাঁদের উদ্ধার করে ভরতপুর ব্লক প্রাথমিক স্বাস্থ্যকেন্দ্রে নিয়ে যান। সেখানে চিকিৎসক সেন্টু ঘোষকে মৃত ঘোষণা করেন। দুর্ঘটনায় গুরুতর জখম ৪৮ বছর বয়সী সৌরভ ঘোষকে কান্দি মহকুমা হাসপাতালে রেফার করা হয়েছে এবং বাকিদের প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসার পর ছেড়ে দেওয়া হয়। মৃত সেন্টু ঘোষের পরিবারে এখন শোকের মাতম, মাত্র তিন বছর আগে তাঁর বিয়ে হয়েছিল এবং ঘরে দুই বছরের একটি ছোট্ট কন্যাসন্তান রয়েছে। খবর পেয়েই ভরতপুর থানার পুলিশ মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার করে ময়নাতদন্তে পাঠিয়েছে এবং ঘটনার তদন্ত শুরু করেছে।1রাঢ় বাংলা

- ঈদকে সামনে রেখে রামপুরহাটে দুস্থদের বস্ত্র বিতরণ, প্রায় ৪০০ মানুষের পাশে ‘মমতাময় মানবিক স্টল’ ঈদকে সামনে রেখে মানবিক উদ্যোগের নজির দেখা গেল বীরভূমের রামপুরহাটে। ‘মমতাময় মানবিক স্টল’-এর উদ্যোগে প্রায় ৪০০ জন দুস্থ ও অসহায় মানুষের হাতে নতুন বস্ত্র তুলে দেওয়া হল। মঙ্গলবার সকাল প্রায় ১১টা নাগাদ রামপুরহাট মহকুমা অফিসের সামনে এই বস্ত্র বিতরণ কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করা হয়। আসন্ন ঈদের আনন্দ সকলের সঙ্গে সমানভাবে ভাগ করে নেওয়ার লক্ষ্যেই এই উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়েছে বলে জানান উদ্যোক্তারা। এই বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন রাজ্যের ডেপুটি স্পিকার আশীষ ব্যানার্জী, রামপুরহাট মহকুমা পুলিশ আধিকারিক গোবিন্দ শিকদার, রামপুরহাট পৌরসভার চেয়ারম্যান সৌমেন ভকত, ত্রিদিব ভট্টাচার্য সহ অন্যান্য বিশিষ্ট অতিথিবর্গ। ‘মমতাময় মানবিক স্টল’-এর কর্ণধার আব্দুর রেকিব জানান, প্রতি বছরই ঈদকে সামনে রেখে তারা এই ধরনের মানবিক কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করেন। এবছর এই উদ্যোগ নবম বছরে পদার্পণ করল। তিনি আরও বলেন, “যতদিন সম্ভব আমরা এই ধরনের সামাজিক ও মানবিক কর্মসূচি চালিয়ে যেতে চাই, যাতে অসহায় মানুষদের মুখে হাসি ফোটানো যায়।”1NEWS TIME 24x7
