#Pattan:NHM Employees Hold 48-Hour Strike at CHC Pattan, Demand Salary Hike and Regularisation Employees working under the National Health Mission staged a second day protest at CHC Pattan today as part of their 48-hour strike, observing a complete shutdown of work. According to the protesting staff, around 82 employees are currently posted at CHC Pattan, while nearly 13,000 to 14,000 employees are working under the NHM scheme across the region. They said that many of them have been serving for the past 20 to 21 years. The employees expressed concern over the lack of a clear policy for their future despite their long years of service. They added that they have already submitted their requests to the Government of India and the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mr Omar Abdullah, but have not received any concrete response. The protesters put forward two main demands: a salary hike and regularisation of their services. They stated that NHM employees are the backbone of the health sector and deserve better pay and job security. The employees appealed to the authorities to look into their demands and take necessary action at the earliest.
