The ceremonial flag-off was graced by Shri Taranga Gogoi, Hon’ble MLA, Naharkatia, in the presence of Shri Mohan Raj Shetty, Chairman & Managing Director, BVFCL, Shri Satyajeet Misra, General Manager (Marketing), BVFCL, and senior officials and employees of the Corporation. The dispatch is being undertaken as part of a five-year agreement between BVFCL and the National Seed Centre (NSC), Bhutan, under the permission of the Department of Fertilizers (DoF), Government of India. The agreement provides a structured framework for BVFCL to supply fertilizers to Bhutan and represents an important milestone in the Corporation’s efforts to expand its market outreach beyond India. The consignment comprises 105 metric tonnes of Neem Coated Urea, dispatched ex-factory from Namrup to the National Seed Centre (NSC), Bhutan. The milestone marks an important step in BVFCL’s efforts to expand its market outreach and build sustainable institutional linkages with neighbouring countries. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Taranga Gogoi, Hon’ble MLA, Naharkatia, highlighted the importance of the initiative in strengthening regional agricultural cooperation and economic linkages between Assam and Bhutan. He congratulated BVFCL on the milestone and appreciated the Corporation’s efforts to take Namrup’s fertilizer production to markets beyond India. Shri Satyajeet Misra, GM (Marketing), BVFCL, highlighted the Corporation’s market expansion initiatives and its commitment to ensuring the availability of quality fertilizers while developing reliable and sustained relationships with neighbouring markets. Shri Mohan Raj Shetty, CMD, BVFCL, described the vision of BVFCL as the first consignment is an important milestone in the Corporation’s journey towards wider market outreach and stronger institutional partnerships. He emphasized BVFCL’s commitment to quality, reliability and timely supply, while contributing to closer agricultural cooperation between India and Bhutan. As part of the broader fertilizer supply arrangement with NSC Bhutan, 20 MT of Single Super Phosphate (SSP), 40 MT of Suphala NPK, 10 MT of Muriate of Potash (MOP) and 0.5 MT of Borax will subsequently be made available. These consignments are proposed to be dispatched ex-Rangapani. The initiative is expected to facilitate a dependable supply of essential agricultural nutrients to Bhutan while opening avenues for deeper commercial cooperation and strengthening the longstanding ties between the two neighbouring countries. The flag-off marks a new milestone for BVFCL, with fertilizers produced at Namrup reaching beyond India’s borders and contributing to the agricultural needs of a neighbouring country.
