Badarpur, District Sribhumi, Assam, respectfully submit this representation regarding my daughter Fatma, whose matrimonial matter has been pending for a considerable period and, despite repeated appearances and efforts, she has not received timely and effective relief. The particulars of the parties are as follows: Complainant/Petitioner: Fathma, D/o Mohammad Mansoor Alam Village Sarapur, P.O. Bhanga Bazar, P.S. Badarpur, District Sribhumi, Assam. Respondent: Faysal Ahmed, S/o Abdul Aziz Village Borshila/Sarang Dewour, P.O. Manikbazar/Manikganj Bazar, P.S. Sribhumi, District Sribhumi, Assam. My daughter was married to the respondent, Faysal Ahmed, on 05 January 2024. Before the marriage, several material facts concerning the prospective groom were represented to our family. The photograph shown to us before the marriage was allegedly different/edited, and the actual person was brought before us only at the time of marriage. We also understood that he was employed in a good position and that he would take my daughter to Mumbai. Subsequently, we came to know that the nature of his employment was substantially different from what had been represented to us. Although the issue of not taking her to Mumbai is not the principal grievance, the alleged misrepresentation before marriage is a serious matter. The more serious and distressing issue concerns the safety and dignity of my daughter in her matrimonial home. My daughter repeatedly informed us that the younger brother of her husband was allegedly behaving inappropriately towards her, including disturbing and harassing her. She also reported incidents in which he allegedly attempted to open her room door at night and behaved improperly around the bathroom. When my daughter complained about these incidents, instead of receiving proper protection and support, she was allegedly told that such things were normal and that she should somehow protect herself. My daughter repeatedly complained to her mother, who advised her regarding her personal safety. Thereafter, we approached the respondent’s father and requested that the matter be taken seriously and resolved. Unfortunately, instead of properly addressing my daughter’s concerns, our daughter was allegedly blamed for the situation. As the circumstances became increasingly difficult and unsafe, we brought our daughter back to our home. We subsequently attempted to sit down with the other family and resolve the matter amicably, but they did not cooperate. Eventually, we were told that they did not want the girl. Having exhausted our efforts for an amicable settlement, we were compelled to seek legal remedy. The matter was placed before the learned court under Section 96 BNSS. The court record/reference supplied by us shows CR Petition No. 89/2025, and the order dated 20 February 2025 records the matter and directs the necessary proceedings/inquiry. The record also mentions the marriage date as 05 January 2024 and the next date as 24 February 2025. Despite repeated appearances and our daughter’s continued efforts to pursue the matter, we have not seen the effective and timely progress that we expected. My daughter has had to repeatedly attend proceedings while waiting for an appropriate resolution. My daughter is young and wishes to continue her education and rebuild her life. Because of the prolonged delay and uncertainty, we made arrangements for her to pursue educational opportunities abroad. She travelled from Guwahati on 19 July 2026 and went to Dubai in July 2026 for educational purposes. We possess the relevant travel tickets and other supporting documents. We have also recently received information that the respondent, Faysal Ahmed, may have contracted another marriage. We respectfully request that this information be independently verified by the competent authorities and, if found to be true and legally relevant, appropriate action may kindly be taken in accordance with law. Hon’ble Sir, we are not seeking any favour or unlawful intervention in the judicial process. We are only seeking timely justice, protection of our daughter’s rights and dignity, and appropriate action by the competent authorities in accordance with law. I therefore humbly request your good office to kindly: Take serious and compassionate cognizance of my daughter’s circumstances. Direct the concerned District Magistrate/competent authority and police authorities to examine the matter and submit an appropriate report. Kindly ensure that the pending proceedings are dealt with expeditiously in accordance with law. Ensure that my daughter’s complaints regarding alleged harassment and safety concerns are properly investigated. Verify the information regarding the respondent’s alleged second marriage and take lawful action, if any violation of law is established. Ensure that my daughter is not subjected to further harassment, intimidation or injustice.
