Faggan Singh Kulaste
Introduction
Faggan Singh Kulaste is an Indian politician and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is currently serving as a member of the parliament representing Mandla constituency of Madhya Pradesh.
Early life and Education
Faggan Singh Kulaste was born on 18 May 1959 in Mandla, Madhya Pradesh. Faggan Singh Kulaste successfully obtained his post-graduation degrees in MA, BEd, and LLB from Mandla College, Dr Hari Singh Gaur University in Sagar, and Rani Durgawati University in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. He is married to Savitri Kulaste, and the couple has 1 son and 4 daughters.
Political Career
Faggan Singh Kulaste has had an extensive career in both legislative and non-political activities. In the legislative realm, he has held various significant positions. Currently, he is serving as the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Steel since 2019. Before that, he served as the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from July 2016 to September 2017. From November 1999 to May 2004, he held the position of Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Additionally, from October to November 1999, he served as the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. Earlier in his career, he served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly in Madhya Pradesh from 1990 to 1992. Within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he has also held several notable positions. He served as the National President of BJP Scheduled Tribes Morcha for two terms in 2004 and 2010. He was also the General Secretary of BJP Madhya Pradesh from 2006 to 2010. Beyond his political engagements, Faggan Singh Kulaste has been involved in non-political activities as well. He played a role in the Akhil Bhartiya Adivasi Vikash Parishad in Madhya Pradesh in 2000 and served as the National Secretary (In-charge) of BJP (ST Cell) in 1996. Furthermore, he held the position of State General Secretary (In-charge) of BJP (ST Cell) in 1993. He became the President of Akhil Bharatiya Adivasi Vikash Parishad in Madhya Pradesh in 1980 and has been a Patron of Akhil Bharatiya Gond Sangh since 1998.
