Ganesh Singh
Introduction
Ganesh Singh is an Indian Politician and a member of Bharatiya Janata Party. He is currently serving as a member of parliament representing Satna constituency in 17th Lok Sabha.
Early life and Education
Ganesh Singh, born on July 2, 1962, hails from Gram Panchyat Khamahariya in Satna district, Madhya Pradesh State. He holds the position of the second child among seven siblings, born to Kamal Bhan Singh and Phoolmati Singh. He successfully completed his educational journey, acquiring a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 1981, followed by a Master of Arts (MA) degree in 1984. In 1986, he further pursued his studies and obtained an L.L.B degree, all from Awadhesh Pratap University situated in Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh State.
Political Career
Ganesh Singh embarked on his political journey by assuming the position of general secretary at the law college, eventually ascending to become its president. During this time, he established close ties with socialist leaders within the Janta Party and actively collaborated with them. In 1989, he assumed leadership of the Socialist Youth in Madhya Pradesh State. Displaying his popularity and widespread support, he contested the Zilla Panchayat member elections in 1994 and emerged victorious by a significant margin. Continuing his political trajectory, in 1999, he secured a position as a member of the Zilla Panchayat of Satna, and in a remarkable feat, he assumed the esteemed role of Chairman of Zilla Panchayat Satna, along with the responsibilities of a Minister of State. He gained recognition for his remarkable contributions to the development of the Vindhya region, tirelessly working towards the progress of gram panchayats and providing crucial amenities such as healthcare, sanitation, education, irrigation, and infrastructure at the panchayat level. His efforts extended to improving the functionality of the panchayats, ensuring access to clean drinking water, and spearheading the construction of dams and small ponds. Witnessing his commendable work, the public desired to see him in a more prominent role. As a result, he contested the Lok Sabha elections in 2004 and emerged victorious with an overwhelming margin of 85,000 votes. Since then, he has continued to advance without looking back.
