Virendra Singh, an esteemed politician, holds membership in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and emerged victorious in the 2019 Indian general elections as the representative of the Ballia Lok Sabha constituency. Notably, he also serves as the national president of the BJP Kisan Morcha.
Early life and education
Virendra Singh, the son of Shri Ramnath Singh and Smt. Draupadi Singh, was born on 21 October 1956 in the village of Dokati, situated in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. He pursued his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U.). On 19 June 1981, he entered into matrimony with Renu Singh.
Political career
Virendra Singh Mast's political career took off in 1988 when he assumed the role of District President for the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. His exceptional leadership skills and commitment propelled him to be appointed as the District President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from 1989 to 1992. In 1991, Virendra Singh Mast secured a significant milestone in his political journey by getting elected to the 10th Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament. This victory demonstrated his growing popularity and the trust bestowed upon him by his constituents.
Virendra Singh Mast's dedication to the welfare of farmers and the agricultural sector was evident in his tenure as the State President of the Kisan Morcha (BJP) from 1996 to 1998. During this period, he tirelessly advocated for the rights and interests of farmers, amplifying their voices and addressing their concerns. Virendra Singh Mast's dedication to the cause of self-reliance and indigenous industries led to his appointment as the State Coordinator of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch from 2000 to 2004. Through this role, he actively promoted indigenous entrepreneurship and the importance of supporting local industries.
Virendra Singh Mast's unwavering commitment to public service led to his re-election to the 12th Lok Sabha in 1998, marking his second term as a Member of Parliament. He continued to represent his constituency diligently, focusing on agricultural development and championing the cause of farmers. In May 2014 and May 2019, Virendra Singh Mast achieved further re-election victories, securing his place in the 16th and 17th Lok Sabha. These triumphs showcased the immense trust and confidence, that his constituents placed in him as their representative.
